ReplyDeleteDo you know the NYC-RELAY project? These are substance abuse counselors employed by the NYC DOH to assess patients for readiness to quit, educate on harm reeducation strategies and to supply narcan packs. We can call them from the ED and they will come to the department to meet with the patient in person. it is really an amazing resource.
